Someone just flipped the downpour switch somewhere… Our poor little downspout can’t handle it.
My mum gets eggs from a neighbor of ours and this one egg was humongous! I was joking how there’s got to be two of them in there and… lo and behold! Two yolks! Sorry for the cruddy photography, though.

Fresh cherry amaretto crumb pie, anyone?
I tried a new crumb top mix and I think its going to be my new go-to, soooo good!
So I made avocado mac-n-cheese today and it was beautiful. But my camera died before I could snap a picture… and heck, I wasn’t going to let it get cold waiting for the camera to recharge! It was hard enough not to just eat the avocado straight out of the skin when I was mixing everything up. MMMMM (click the pic for the recipe, peoples)
I have to admit though, I’d change a few things next time around:
1) mix up the cheeses; I’d use something a tad sharper mixed in with the Pepper Jack, and
2) put it all in a casserole dish, grab another handful of shredded cheese and some panko to toss on top, and broil that sucker for some good crispy, melty, cheesy goodness!

Warning, SquawkTalk may turn into something of a food blog this summer if I can’t get my hands on some tools to design pretty things.
Tonight’s dinner is salad with strawberries and mint fresh from our garden, toasted almonds, and a homemade balsamic vinaigrette! Simple, but so, so good.

I’ve loved his stencil work for a while, saw a small slice of it in a small DC gallery a couple years back and more recently, when I was in Berlin. Was getting some laser-cutting done for a studio project and the guy had one of his cardboard …paintings (almost doesn’t seem like a good enough word) on the wall of the shop; I flipped! He was actually friends with the guy! How cool is that?
